KROGER TO WEBCAST THIRD-QUARTER CONFERENCE CALL WITH INVESTORS

CINCINNATI, OH, December 2, 2003 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today said it will host a conference call with investors on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 10 a.m. (EST) to discuss financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2003.
