KROGER PROMOTES WOLFRAM TO VICE PRESIDENT OF GROCERY PRODUCTS GROUP
CINCINNATI, OH, November 12, 2002 -- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced that Katie Wolfram has been promoted to vice president of the Grocery Products Group. In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing 10 Kroger food processing facilities in nine states.
Ms. Wolfram, 47, joined Kroger in 1979 as a management trainee in the Cincinnati division and later spent three years as a grocery buyer. After spending seven years in merchandising technology and consumer research, Ms. Wolfram was appointed marketing manager in Kroger's Manufacturing Group in 1991. Seven years later, she was promoted to general manager of Delight Products in Springfield, Tennessee. In 2000, she became director of sales and marketing for grocery products and, earlier this year, director of grocery merchandising.
Ms. Wolfram earned an accounting degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University.
