FRED MEYER AND TICKETMASTER ANNOUNCE ADDITION OF 15 NEW RETAIL TICKET CENTERS TO FRED MEYER IN OREGON AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON

Portland, OR (November 9, 2001) -- Fred Meyer and Ticketmaster (NASDAQ: TMCS), the world’s leading ticketing and access company, today announced the addition of 15 new Ticketmaster retail ticket center outlets within Fred Meyer one-stop-shopping stores in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Jeanne Kennedy, group vice president of the Home Electronic Division for Fred Meyer Stores, said, "Ticketmaster is another great reason for people to shop at Fred Meyer. Not only does it add to the convenience offered by our one-stop-shopping stores, Ticketmaster has all the major league teams and the biggest concerts at the largest facilities. From the Rose Quarter to Safeco Field, from Key Arena to the Delta Center, you can now find tickets for all them at Fred Meyer, and more locations will be coming in Oregon and Washington in 2002."

“We are extremely pleased to be adding these Fred Meyer stores to our network of retail ticket centers," said Tom Lasley, general manager of Ticketmaster Oregon. “Consumers will now have the added ability to purchase event tickets and obtain event information from these Fred Meyer locations."

These Ticketmaster retail ticket centers will provide entertainment fans with convenient access for purchasing tickets as well as up-to-the-minute event information, including seating charts, venue information, and more.

In 1999, the first Ticketmaster retail ticket centers were opened within nine Fred Meyer stores in Utah. The addition of the following 15 Ticketmaster retail ticket centers in Oregon and Washington is as extension of this partnership, with additional outlets scheduled to open in 2002:
