KROGER AND UFCW LOCALS 400 IN WEST VIRGINIA AND 1099 IN CINCINNATI REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENTS

CINCINNATI, Ohio, November 2, 2007 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) announced today that tentative agreements have been reached with UFCW Local 400 in West Virginia and Local 1099 in Cincinnati in their respective contract negotiations.

The tentative agreement with UFCW 400 covers more than 3,250 associates at 41 stores in multiple cities in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. The tentative agreement with UFCW 1099 covers nearly 11,000 associates in more than 75 stores in the Cincinnati region.

The unions will fully recommend these contracts to their associates and ratification votes will take place in the coming days.
