KROGER NAMES JON FLORA PRESIDENT OF FRY’S
CINCINNATI, Ohio, August 14, 2007 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced Jon Flora has been named President of the Company’s Fry’s division, based in Phoenix, effective August 19, 2007. Fry’s operates 117 supermarkets in Arizona.
“Jon’s extensive experience in operations, merchandising and customer service will be a great asset to Fry’s associates and customers,” said Don McGeorge, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kroger.
During his 36-year career with Kroger, Mr. Flora, 52, has served in a variety of leadership positions. Most recently, he successfully guided and directed several Kroger divisions as a Senior Vice President. Prior to that, Mr. Flora served as the President of the Company’s Great Lakes division, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. He began his career in 1971 with the Company’s Dillon stores.
Mr. Flora replaces Mike Donnelly who has been named to lead Kroger’s Ralphs Division in California.
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kroger is one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains.
