KROGER ASSOCIATES IN NASHVILLE, KNOXVILLE AND HUNTSVILLE RATIFY NEW LABOR AGREEMENT
NASHVILLE, July 07, 2008 - The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) has been informed that associates who are members of United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1995 in Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee, and Huntsville, Alabama have ratified a new labor agreement with the Company.
“This agreement maintains quality jobs and affordable health care for our associates and their families and keeps Kroger competitive,” said John Hackett, president of Kroger’s Mid-South division, which includes Nashville.
“Our associates did a fine job of maintaining a focus on customer service during this process, and we appreciate their efforts,” said Bruce Lucia, president of Kroger’s Atlanta division, which includes Knoxville and Huntsville.
The agreement covers more than 8,500 Kroger associates who work in more than 90 stores in and around Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee and Huntsville, Alabama.
