KROGER AND UFCW LOCAL 876 IN DETROIT REACH TENTATIVE CONTRACT AGREEMENT
CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 25, 2007 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today said it has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 876 in Detroit, Michigan.
The tentative agreement covers over 9,900 Kroger associates at 101 stores in the Detroit metropolitan area.
The UFCW will present the tentative agreement to its members for consideration. Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending ratification.
“This tentative agreement was reached because of the hard work of both the union and the company,” said Bruce Macaulay, president of Kroger’s Great Lakes Division, which includes Kroger stores in Michigan.
