DELLA WALL PROMOTED TO GROUP VICE PRESIDENT OF KROGER
CINCINNATI, OH, April 9, 2004 -- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced that Della Wall has been promoted to group vice president of human resources, effective immediately. She also has been elected an officer of the Company.
Ms. Wall previously served as corporate vice president of human resources, a position she had held since last June. Prior to that, she served as vice president of compensation and benefits for two years and vice president of deferred benefits for one year. Ms. Wall has held a variety of positions within SupeRx Drug Stores, Kroger Manufacturing and corporate human resources including training, health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits and compensation. She began her career with SupeRx Drug Stores in 1971.
"We are pleased to welcome Della to Kroger's senior management team," said David B. Dillon, Kroger chief executive officer. "During her career at Kroger, Della has been instrumental in helping to develop our human resources, training and development strategy. Her experience will be an important asset in the years ahead."
She will report to Mr. Dillon.
