KROGER TO PARTICIPATE IN BANC OF AMERICA SECURITIES 2006 CONSUMER CONFERENCE

CINCINNATI, OH, March 9, 2006 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) will participate in the Banc of America Securities 2006 Consumer Conference on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Mike Schlotman, Kroger senior vice president and chief financial officer, will address investors.
